Inclusive Supply Chain: Partnering with Diverse Businesses for Success
As a woman-owned and LGBTQ-owned business, Publish Your Purpose (PYP) is a diverse hybrid publishing company dedicated to fostering diversity within our team, our authors, and our supply chain.
Supplier diversity refers to the intentional inclusion of socially and economically disadvantaged businesses in procurement opportunities. This practice enhances innovation, reduces costs, and drives revenue growth.
PYP is committed to sourcing services from diverse-owned and operated businesses, including those owned by women, LGBTQ+ individuals, people of color, individuals with disabilities, and veterans. We believe that a variety of backgrounds brings diverse perspectives, which fuels creativity and leads to better outcomes for our authors and their published works. Additionally, as a certified B Corporation, we actively partner with other B Corps, reinforcing our commitment to maintaining diverse supply chains and promoting social responsibility.
Our internal Supplier Diversity program actively partners with diverse suppliers and continues to expand our diverse spending, showcasing our dedication to inclusivity.
While many suppliers are diverse in multiple ways, our total percentage may not equal 100%.
Progress Over Time
- A significant percentage of our company expenses are consistently allocated to diverse suppliers, demonstrating our commitment to inclusion. This includes notable spending with women-owned businesses (WBE), LGBTQ+-owned businesses (LGBTBE), minority-owned businesses (MBE), disability-owned businesses (DOBE), and veteran-owned businesses (VOSB).
- Our focus on diverse suppliers has grown stronger over the years, reflecting our dedication to supporting underrepresented communities in the publishing industry. The trend showcases an upward trajectory in both the percentage of expenses spent with diverse suppliers and the variety of those suppliers.
Supplier diversity, as seen in major corporations, often requires that diverse businesses be certified by a third-party governing body. However, our numbers encompass all diverse-owned businesses, regardless of certification status.
