Why does my pillow make my neck hurt?
“Your pillow might be causing neck pain for two main reasons,” says James Leinhardt from Levitex. “Firstly, consider its height. It needs to give enough lift to your head to keep it in a neutral position. We recommend getting someone to take a photo of your sleeping position and if you can see your neck is stretched or overly elevated, your pillow might be too high. Or, if you're waking up and you have a bad neck and shoulder pain, then your pillow is too low.”

This will lead your head to sink into your mattress like a bowl of porridge, contributing to the pain. We recommend falling asleep in the ‘dreamer’ position which is when you lie in the semi-foetal position with your knees bent.”

You will feel more stable, and this will support the top leg and avoids internal rotation at hips. Think of a good seating posture – the Dreamer is the same, just on your bed.
